Description
The Medieval Livonia model includes late medieval documents from Riga, Tallinn and other towns of Livonia. The training set is based on 14th - 16th century craft ordinances from Tallinn and Riga, transcribed by Rūta Bruževica, 14th - 16th century town speech transkripts (Bursprake), transcribed by Inna Jürjo, and 16th century inventories from Tallinn Magistrate, transcribed by Ivar Leimus. The documents are written in Middle Low German, in cursive handwriting.
The transcriptions for the training set and compilation of model was done as a part of the Tallinn University project "Digital Livonia: For a Digitally Enhanced Study of Medieval Livonia (c. 1200–1550)", financed by Estonian Research Council (PRG1276)

Low error rate9.6% CER
Character Error Rate (CER) measures the percentage of characters incorrectly recognised. Lower is better. This model scored 9.6% on its validation set. As a rule of thumb, a CER below 10% is considered good for most handwritten material.
Measured on the model's own validation data. Results on your documents may differ depending on handwriting style, document condition, language, and how closely your material resembles the training data.
