The Secret Diary of K. B. Hase (ΛΑΓΩΌΣ)

Welcome to the online edition of Karl Benedikt Hase’s ‘secret’ diary, which he kept in a form of Ancient Greek during his life as a scholar in 19th-century Paris.

The LAGOOS (ΛΑΓΩΌΣ) project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF, Grant DOI 10.55776/Y1519) and hosted by the University of Innsbruck.

The nine volumes of Hase’s Greek diaries (from the years 1825, 1837, 1839, 1840, 1842, 1850/2, 1857 and 1862) are preserved at the Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv of the Klassik Stiftung in Weimar under call numbers 108/2919–2929 (© Klassik Stiftung Weimar, Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv).
