New models out!

Transkribus is happy to introduce new public models for Spanish and French.

Álvaro Cuéllar of the ETSO “Estilometría aplicada al Teatro del Siglo de Oro” project  trained two models for theater manuscripts and theatre prints from the 17th and 18th century with the aim to modernize the spelling to the current rules. “The Spanish Golden Age Theatre Manuscripts (Spelling Modernization) 1.0” was trained with theatre manuscripts from the 17th century and the second model on theater prints “Spanish Golden Age Theatre Prints (Spelling Modernization) 1.0” was trained from prints of the 17th and 18th century.

There are also two new French models trained by Maxime Gohier: The “New France 17^th-18^th centuries” model is a combination of French handwritings from the late 17th and early 18th century and is based on more than 1,600 pages of correspondence and registers of colonial administrators in New France. It includes the main types of writing of the period. The second model “Ordonnances des Intendants” was developed from the “cahiers” (notebooks) of the ordinances of the intendants of New France (kept at Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec). Written between 1705 and 1760, these notebooks present a good writing regularity and a standardized legal vocabulary.
