George Halsey_1943-Letters-Home
This site is a collection of letters that George A. Halsey wrote home during 1943 after he began military service in April of that year.
After entering the Army at Fort Dix, NJ, he was transferred to Greensboro, NC for basic training. In July, after a brief time in Raliegh, NC he was shipped to Champaign-Urbana, where he continued college under the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP).
